These days if you blink in the social media world you’ll miss something. A few days ago Periscope announced that broadcasters can now embed their broadcasts anywhere online, with a simple copy-paste action.
Before you go rushing off to your Periscope profile to copy your broadcast links there’s something you should know: your scopes need to be posted on Twitter first, then you copy the link to that tweet.
For those of you that don’t have your auto-tweet feature turned on in Periscope, do that now and thank me later.
Did I mention that this works for live broadcasts AND replays???
My two cents: Periscope is not “going gently into that good night” in the live streaming battle with Facebook. Facebook Live has had Periscope on the ropes for the past couple of months by rewarding live streams with higher organic reach. Periscope just made it easier to drive traffic to websites with the ability to embed broadcasts……remember when the “I’m Live” badge rolled out?
If you’re using both Periscope and Facebook Live for your business and you don’t want to be forced to duplicate your content delivery, you can always post your saved Periscope replay video onto your Facebook page and still achieve higher reach…. just sayin’.
Enough with the words, let’s check this out:

I’ll be sharing more about how this new feature can serve those of us in the entrepreneurial/side hustle/small business space in the coming days & weeks. In the meantime, check out my broadcast about the Instagram rollout of ‘Stories’, making it clear that Snapchat has got some work to do if they intend to hold on to their position in the social media space.
