We’re living in exciting times, people! Instagram has rolled out its business tools!
A little more than two months ago Instagram announced that the app would roll out its “best posts first” feed for users, and shortly afterward, the tools to help business owners manage their pages were announced.
The business upgrades include a contact tab, insights, the ability to promote posts (which I predicted would be next during a Periscope broadcast that I did in March, click here to get the full training video).
NOTE: In addition to an email address and phone number, the contact tab includes your business address. Sooooo, if you have your home address listed as the business address on your Facebook page, you might want to change that….
Phase 2 of the algorithm rollout has reached my lifestyle business, The Confetti Collective. Instagram has officially “recognized” my business as a business, I didn’t get an alert or notification that it was coming, I just opened the app and it was there.
When I first heard about the business options a few months ago I did one thing: connected each of my Facebook pages to the associated Instagram account. When the announcement was first made about the tools coming, it said that Instagram would start a phased roll-out to the accounts that are for businesses.
How in the heck would Instagram know if your account is for a business?? The only way is if it’s connected to a Facebook business page!!!!
Remember when I said that I predicted the rollout of ads directly on Instagram? Well, you can sign up here to get the complete training video where I stated my prediction and included a few tips and takeaways for business owners, influencers and anybody using Instagram as a tool to grow their business.
I want you to be great…so go be great.
